Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hot Rod was surrendered to the shelter with his brother Maverick due to no fault of his own. His mother was a black lab, and his father was a Great Pyrenees.
Hot Rod is friendly towards dogs, cats, chickens, and children of all ages. He lived indoors and is housetrained. He will go to the door and whine to let you know he needs to go out. He was not crate trained.
Hot Rod knows commands like: sit, come, and stop.
He enjoys going for runs, walks, and car rides. He tolerates baths. He loves to be outside! He also likes to play fetch, but he does not like to give the ball back!
Hot Rod believes he is a lap dog, and the previous owner described him as a big baby.
You may notice a scar on Hot Rod’s leg- this is from being hit by a car in July. As far as we are aware, he has recovered with no permanent damage.
Maverick and Hot Rod are bonded, and we would love to see them be adopted together; however, we know that this is unlikely to happen. If they cannot be adopted together, we believe the best home would be one with another dog. We believe that Hot Rod would be able to bond with another dog just as well as he has bonded with Maverick.
