1.

Submit Application

You must first fill out an application to be approved through our organization. The application can be found at www.aussieandme.org

2.

Home Check

We will arrange to have a personal interview and home check to ensure our dogs are being placed in a caring, loving and secure home.

3.

Meet the Pet

We will discuss dogs that we feel will be a good match for your family and home environment, then meet 'n greets with dogs and foster homes.

4.

Take the Pet Home

If all goes well during the meet 'n greet process and everyone is in agreement to a good match, you will be able to take the dog home.

Additional adoption info

Our standard adoption fee ranges between $350 to $500; this helps to cover costs of the dogs while in rescue. All of our dogs are spayed/neutered (unless not of age to be or for medical reasons), up to date on vaccinations and tested for heartworms, lyme and parasites, they are on monthly heartworm preventative, are fully vetted, microchipped and healthy at time of adoption. All our dogs are in private foster homes and their bio will state where that is. You do need to be willing to travel to the foster home, or at a prearranged meeting spot, to meet the dog. We will require that you to bring your current dog(s) and family members along to meet the potential adoptive dog so there are no surprises such as the dogs not getting along.

Our adoption process is such:

Once we receive your application and you respond to the application response email, we begin by checking your vet reference and your personal references. If all goes well there, then we begin to schedule a home visit. Once the home visit has been completed and you are approved, we will then begin to discuss the dog(s) that might fit best into your home and lifestyle. You will be able to speak to the foster parents and make arrangements to meet the dog should everyone be in agreement we may have found a great match. If all goes well at the meet and greet, you may take your dog home that day.

Please note that we do receive a high amount of applications for our dogs. There may be other applications on the dog(s) you are most interested in, but understand that it is not first come, first serve. This is about the best home that best suits the dog as well as the best dog for the home. Therefore, all applications will be considered once approved.

Go meet their pets

All animals for adoption are in private foster homes and arrangements will need to be made to meet our furry 4 leggers once your application has been approved.

More about this rescue

Aussie And Me Animal Rescue (AAMAR) is a Florida non-profit organization dedicated to rescuing homeless and abandoned animals, primarily dogs from high-kill shelters and owners who can no longer care for them. By working with committed volunteers, foster homes, local veterinarians, trainers and boarding facilities, we are able to rescue hundreds of animals every year, provide them with loving temporary care, and find them well-matched, carefully screened forever homes.

We also serve as a resource to communities and all pet owners by providing education and information on responsible pet ownership, including the importance of spay/neuter, positive behavior training, and good nutrition.
