My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Breed: Bichon/ShihTzu mix
Gender: female
DOB: 10/13/2020
Weight: 18.4 lbs.

Hi, my name is Pooch. I was rescued from a puppy mill, where I spent my days locked in a cage, forced to give birth to litter after litter of puppies. Even though my life was tough, I still have a big smile on my face, revealing my adorable snaggle tooth. At first, I was a little scared of people, but now I get excited whenever I see my foster mom. I wag my tail and give her lots of kisses. Despite my age, I’m as playful and happy as a puppy, especially when there are other dogs around. I was severely matted and had to get shaved down, so I’m a little rough around the edges. Once my soft fur grows back, I’m going to look great again. I’m working on my potty training, and I’m making good progress. I would love to meet you!

Pooch will be spayed, UTD on vaccines, microchipped, and dewormed. She will be available after 9/27/24. Her adoption fee is $450. She is currently fostered in Chicago, Illinois. Her foster mom, Bettina, can be reached by email: bejolese@gmail.com. If you would like to adopt Pooch, please fill out an adoption application on the Tiny Paws website. Thank you.

More about this rescue

Tiny Paws Small Dog Rescue was born out of my love for small dogs and desire to help those in need, and in memory of the loss of a dear family member. Dealing frequently with small breed puppies and retired breeder moms, we strive to find homes that are aware of the commitment to raising a small breed dog and to the patience needed in socializing and housebreaking a retired breeder mom who has no idea what life in a home is all about. We are foster home based and are always looking for new foster homes to help us continue our love of rescuing dogs in need. We are happy to assist in owner surrender placements, especially those in need of surrendering their small dogs due to financial hardships, loss of a loved one, or dog owner entering assisted living facilities or nursing homes. We pride ourselves with a thorough search for that perfect home for a dog in need and follow up with phone calls to ensure things are going well. Tiny Paws will take back an adopted dog should the need arise within a reasonable notice and an available foster home has an open spot. Our goal is to someday own a building to house even more canine companions in need. We look forward to helping you find your family pet.
