Check out Ol' Blue Eyes! What a gorgeous guy Kennedy is! He's a husky/shepherd of about a year old that was abandoned by his owner in a city park one hot, summer day. Kennedy has not let past treatment stop him from making new friends and trusting that people will be kind to him from now on. Kennedy is a barrel of laughs! He's full of happy, excited energy and he's thrilled to romp and zoom around our exercise yard, taking off after every toy or ball you throw for him. Kennedy has had lots of training but he could still use a little, just for some mouthiness while playing. He doesn't mean any harm though. He'll need a home with no kids but Kennedy is happy to meet other dogs! (He seems as if he'd be a cat-chaser) Kennedy walks well on a leash and he will sit and offer a paw when asked, and he's gentle taking treats too. He'd love a home where he'll get exercise and be able to run, play, and be the goofy puppy he is! Call 609-693-1900 or email: office@ahsppz.org for an application. File#73524 6/18/24

More about this shelter
The Associated Humane Societies rescues stray and homeless animals, both domestic and wildlife, providing quality care and sanctuary until loving homes can be found. As a community-based organization, we provide low-cost veterinary care and humane education to promote responsible pet guardianship throughout New Jersey.
For over a century we have offered a haven to abused and neglected animals. Founded in 1906, AHS is the largest animal sheltering system in New Jersey, operating three shelters located in Newark, Forked River, and Tinton Falls. Our Forked River facility also includes Popcorn Park. Established in 1977, Popcorn Park is a sanctuary for abandoned, injured, ill, exploited, abused or elderly wildlife, exotic and farm animals, and birds.
The Society is a not for profit, 501(c)3 organization and we take pride in our devotion to the thousands of animals that come through our doors looking for a better life.
