For Adopt a Pet and the PEDIGREE® brand, October is all about finding homes for dogs in shelters. Adopt this month for a PEDIGREE® Wet Food Pouch and a chance to win a Homecoming-style photo shoot and shelter donation.
If you see pets listed by a private owner, it means that they’re adoptable through Adopt a Pet’s Rehome program – the safe and reliable way to find a loving new home for your pet.
Arlo is an 8 year old 3/4 Golden 1/4 Poodle and weighs approximately 85lbs. He is an incredibly sweet boy and wants to be with his people all the time. He will snuggle for as long as one is willing. He takes medication for hypothyroidism but it is relatively inexpensive through Chewy.
We are looking to rehome him due to some concerns we have about his reactions to our 2 year old toddler. He has gotten startled by the chaotic movements of the toddler and his reaction has been to jump up and assume a defensive position. He has growled and snapped during a couple of these episodes but has never bitten anyone.
He lives with two other Goldens that he plays with nicely. He is used to having a dog door and a back yard but is able to hold his potty in the absence of a dog door. He knows basic commands such as sit and down and is very intelligent and quick to learn.
We are devastated to have to rehome him, but want to find a loving home for him. Happy to give more details when we connect!
