Unfortunately, Benny has found himself back with us. He was originally adopted from Waggy six years ago and lived happily in Brooklyn. However, due to changes in his previous owner’s life, he was returned to us this year. About a month ago, Benny was adopted, but once again recently, through no fault of his own, he has been returned. We are determined to find this amazing boy a forever home where he can enjoy his golden years. Benny is a 10YO, 10 lbs long-haired Chi.
Benny loves going for walks and playing with his toys, but enjoys being cozy at home the most. Benny understands basic commands, is perfect on a leash, and is fully housetrained. He has no separation anxiety, and does well even when left alone in the home without a crate. Benny needs a little time to warm up to new people, but once he gets comfortable, he’s a smart, sweet, and well-behaved pup. You won’t find a cuter underbite! Benny needs an experienced adopter that will create some normal boundaries and stick to them. He willingly does want you want and follows rules once he realizes he can’t convince you otherwise.
Benny is very cat like. He loves to nap in various places, loves attention and playing with his people, and prefers to avoid guests or people petting him on the street. He’s a natural introvert, so he also prefers a quiet life, and someone willing to use a crate when they have guests.
Benny is looking for a peaceful, calm home that can provide him with a consistent routine. Benny could go to a home with another senior dog as long as his adopter sets appropriate boundaries. Benny should not go into a home with young children or cats.
From his previous foster, “I love Benny so much! He’s such a character and has been so much fun. He’s like a sweet little gnome that follows you around and wants to be as close as possible. He’s more excited to greet me than my own dogs when I get home and sometimes even lets out a little lion cub howl! He’s always super excited to go out for his walks and absolutely loves to sniff! He’s also quite happy to hang out and enjoy life at a cafe! He’s got so much personality and is one of my favorite foster dogs ever!”
Vaccinated for rabies, DA2PP, lepto, lyme, influenza, and bordetella. Neutered, heartworm negative, and microchipped. Current on flea, tick, and heartworm prevention.
To apply for Benny, visit our website (www.waggytailrescue.org) for an adoption application. It is important to fill out an application as soon as possible for consideration, and we require a complete application for you to meet an animal. We are currently unable to respond to general email inquiries as an all-volunteer run rescue. If the dog is on our website, they are still available.
Waggytail Rescue CANNOT guarantee the exact age of any adoptable dog, or final size of any of our adoptable puppies. We rely on the information provided to us by veterinarians, shelters, owner surrenders and other circumstances bringing the dog into our rescue.
