For Adopt a Pet and the PEDIGREE® brand, October is all about finding homes for dogs in shelters. Adopt this month for a PEDIGREE® Wet Food Pouch and a chance to win a Homecoming-style photo shoot and shelter donation.
This helps Coming Back Home Rescue with pet care costs.

Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Cannon has arrived late last night (9/14) from escaping euthanization in SC. He was amazing on the car all the way up and even took the opportunity to sit in our laps. Cannon is surprisingly light and as soft as a teddy bear. Such a sweet guy.
While we're stilling getting to know him, we do know;
He's dog-friendly and very friendly overall.
Affectionate and Smart. He listens very well.
Does well in his crate.
Appears Housebroken. Has had no accidents.
Not familiar with the leash. But is trying in his own goofy way.
About a Year Old
Can cat test upon request.
Needs neutered but will be neutered before adoption.

He's currently in a temporary foster to keep him out of the kennels while he waits for transport. Here's what they had to say about him;
He’s super soft when he’s clean. Likes our Diamond Naturals Lamb & Rice better than Pedigree puppy. He’s more housebroken but not sure if 100%. No accidents in several days so far. He sleeps in a kennel at night so he doesn’t mess up the house. He’s not really destructive but he has a ton of toys here. I’ve just had to clean all my rugs too many times. He’s a licker. Loves attention, very sweet. He likes to just crawl up in your lap but he doesn’t stay too long. Like ADHD. Lol. His tongue is too long for his skinny long snout & it hits you in the face when he throws his head around. He listens pretty well & he knows “the look” he’s going to make someone a great dog.

All adoptions go through a Foster to Adopt trial to ensure it's a good fit and you are provided everything you need to get started. These items must be returned at the end of your trial.
MEDICAL NOTES:
Cannon recently battled through an infection in his legs which may have been caused by a spider bite at the kennel. He became lethargic and unable to use his back legs. Now, he has finished his medication and doing much better. There will be scarring on his legs but will disappear over time.

Additional adoption info
We always start off with the application reviewing them at a first come, first serve basis. We look for the best possible compatibility and may ask questions to help to determine if you would be a great possible match. Next, we schedule something known as a "Happy Visit" where you can meet your potential new family member. We usually do this at your property which also covers the brief home visit. However, we also have adoption events or can meet in neutral locations for some animals. Afterwards, you sign an adoption contract and pay for their adoption fee.
ALL adopters must go through a Foster to Adopt before finalizing to ensure it's a good fit.
We check in on a 3-3-3 basis to make sure everything is going well between your new pet while providing resources to help make transitioning smoother.
