My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:
Ziba was brought into care by her previous owner on May 19, 2024.

Why this pet is the one for you:
Meet Abby #860892 and Ziba #860891, the cutest little guinea pigs around! Ziba absolutely loves having some out-of-cage time each day to stretch her legs and bond with you, especially if there are veggies to be chewed! Ziba came to us with her best friend Abby and can't imagine life without her, so they have to be adopted together!

Ziba and Abby's home needs to be spacious-at least 8 square feet-with cozy hideouts and fun chew toys to keep them entertained. Their favorite snack is timothy hay, but they gets super excited for their daily greens and will squeal with joy when they see vegetables. Don't be surprised to hear some adorable squeaks when they see you approaching!

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
