My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:
This pet was brought in a community member.

Why this pet is the one for you:
Eggy, or maybe it could be Iggy, has the beautiful face and strong body of his type. His type means that he will be loyal and protective above all else. He will likely be outgoing, alert seriously responsible. He will need lots of space for his energetic and adventurous spirit. He will prefer that his people be active and he will want them to share their active life with him. He will not like being left behind. A car ride for a puppacino? Check. A run on the beach? Double check. A hike up a little hill? Check. Lots of ball playing? All good and wanted by Eggy (or Iggy). He is easy to walk. His waggy tail is a good match for his wiggly body. He is not shy about telling you when he wants pets and attention. Do you want to add an active, handsome dog to your household? If so, you will get a buddy and a protector. Hard to beat that - right? Bring a leash and come to meet Eggy/Iggy. You will not regret it.

At SDHS:
This pet has been vaccinated, microchipped and spayed/neutered. This pet is now ready for their new home!

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
