Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Marilyn Monroe is a lovely, 4-year-old kitty with a beautiful white coat with black markings, along with golden eyes and a beauty spot on one side of her pink nose. She is definitely a glamour puss! She came to HART last year from our rescue partner in Tennessee, and raised a litter of kittens who were all adopted. She’s ready to shine in her own spotlight and find her forever home.
Marilyn Monroe seeks you out for attention when you enter her room, and she loves to hang out and to be petted. She’s also playful and especially enjoys dangly toys. She is an alpha female cat, and can be particular about which of her feline roommates she will tolerate. And she'll let you know when she's done with petting. Marilyn would do best in an experienced, cat savvy home with people who can patiently acclimate her to the household. We've seen her interact with children and she does very well with them. She is selective about the dogs she likes, but cat-friendly dogs who are calm would likely be OK.
We have observed that Marilyn Monroe does have some anxiety and stress issues, most likely from living in the shelter, so our Medical Team started her on a medication to help her cope. Like any true celebrity, she only eats the finest of foods and is currently eating a limited ingredient diet of duck and green pea. We tell her it's because she's special, but really it’s to help keep her allergies in check—she is prone to an immune response that causes small bumps on the underside of her chin which, if not treated, could become irritated and uncomfortable. We will require that her adopters have an established veterinarian relationship. Our Adoption Team will review her specific health needs with you prior to adoption.
