My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Rue! This adorable little 11lbs girl was found as a stray on the island of Kauai. After making the trip to California to join Diamond's Friends Pet Rescue (she was a perfect angel on her flight), she's now looking for her furever home in the Orange County area.

Rue is estimated to be about a year old and is spayed and vaccinated. She enjoys the company of calm dogs. She can be shy at first, but she is SO sweet and loves to be held. She's also learning the joys of playing with toys and is getting the hang of walking on a leash.

Rue has been very good about going potty outside as long as she gets opportunities to go out and relieve herself. She's good in her crate and sleeps through the night. That said, she will need someone to continue her training to help her with a transition into a new home and basic obedience.

She is currently being treated for some skin issues and substantial fur loss on her neck, back, and tail caused by a flea infestation she had on Kauai. We know her "glow up" once she heals is going to be spectacular and are so hoping someone see's her inner beauty and loves her for that with the knowledge that she's going to be a stunner once she's healthy!

If you are interested in adopting Rue and helping her realize how wonderful life is supposed to be, please go to our website and fill out an application. We are currently only considering adopters in Orange County for her. She's ready to find her person that she can bond with.

More about this rescue

Launched in 2021, Diamond's Friends Pet Rescue is a Newport Beach-based 501(c)(3) animal rescue organization. We are entirely foster-based and are no-kill. Our mission is to help as many homeless dogs and cats as possible find loving and compassionate adoptive families.

We accomplish this by being good stewards of donations, inspiring dedicated volunteers and fosters, providing education on responsible pet ownership, and being advocates for each animal that comes under our care. Our goal is to make a positive impact in the lives of as many animals as we can.

Diamond's Friends Pet Rescue is named in honor of our founder's late dog, Diamond. She was a fantastic foster sister to numerous dogs and was a friend to every animal she met. It is our hope that many more animals in need will get to be one of Diamond's friends.
