Hi! My name is Zag IN LA!!, and I am IN LOS ANGELES looking for my forever home! I was rescued from the dog meat trade in South Korea by the DoVE Project. My fate would have been to live in fear and distress, watching dogs being led to slaughter for human consumption. DoVE Project heard about me, and now I am looking for my forever family!

BEHAVIOR: Zag is a very sensitive boy who has gone through quite a few changes. His parents have separated and he is now living in the Bay Area. Sweet Zag would do well in a calm home that will allow him the time and space to work on his confidence. He would be most comfortable if he had consistent company in the home - he is working on accepting that it is ok to be alone. Someone confident with calm energy would be great for Zag!
Zag is very playful! He gets zoomies when the people he loves come home and when he gets a treat he loves to toss it around and play with it. Zag is so smart! He knows a lot of commands: stay, leave it, paw, spin; and figures out food puzzles toys easily. Mostly he enjoys being pet while he watches TV with you. Zag also loves hikes and is a great leash walker.

Jindos are known for their fierce loyalty, high intelligence, rarely barking, and playful nature. They make great indoor family dogs, as Jindos are clean and easily housetrained, and are faithful to family members. They are also mid-level active and love being socialized at dog parks, going on hikes, and joining the family on trips.
ABOUT SHELTER STRESS
Dogs who have lived in shelters for a long period develop behaviors due to an environment that is loud, chaotic, and stressful, even in the best shelters in the US. Dogs in shelters have limited socialization exposure to people and urban environments. DoVE dogs also come from a traumatic background such as dog meat farms and slaughterhouses. While many of our dogs acclimate within a few months with consistency, structure, and patience, some of our more sensitive dogs can take longer to rehabilitate. It's important to note that these sensitive dogs are even more attuned to human emotions and behavior, making for a deeper connection human-dog connection. DoVE Project is committed to helping our adopters desensitize and socialize our dog meat trade survivors.

After reviewing applications for each pup, our team may contact you for a phone interview.

Home Check
Please send us a video or multiple photos of your home, interior and exterior.

Approve Application
A group decision will be made based on what we believe is the best fit for both the pet and for your family.
5.
Pay Fee
The full adoption fee is paid prior to bringing the pet home.
6.
Take the Pet Home
The pet will come home with you for a 2-week trial.
7.
Sign Adoption Contract
After a successful 2-week trial, the adoption contract is signed.

DoVE Project (Dogs of Violence Exposed) is a 501(c)3 animal welfare, rights and protection organization. As our name is clearly stated, our aim is to end the Dog Meat Trade in S. Korea and other parts of the world where the dogs are slaughtered for human consumption. The condition in which these dogs are raised, bred and slaughtered is extremely brutal and inhumane. We rescue these dogs from dog farms, slaughterhouses, or dogs destined to enter into dog meat trade or be slaughtered to be eaten. Many female dogs that are rescued from the farms/slaughter houses are pregnant and oftentimes their puppies are brought to USA for adoption. Part of our campaign to end the DMT in Korea is rescue work in parallel in conjunction with our campaign to raise awareness and education within Korea.
