My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Ka-chow! Lightning is growing up fast, but we think he'll at least be medium sized, and full grown around 30-35lbs at the most. He has the cutest little legs and the greatest coat with lots of merle patterned patches. Lightning is VERY playful and he's ready to learn some great tricks. He can be crated at night, but will still need to be potty trained, but he's so smart that we think he'll pick it up in a flash. The home that adopts little Lightning will feel like they just won first place!

More about this shelter

Our shelter had it's beginnings in the mid 90's and formally became a nonprofit organization in 2001. The dream of Lee and Sophia DiClemente has grown to be the largest no-kill animal shelter in New Mexico. Lee passed in 2010, but Sophia carries on with the support of a small staff, a large number of volunteers, and numerous donors - large and small.
