My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Spice is not spicy, as her name may lead you to imagining. She is as sweet as can be, despite her initial hesitance with strangers; treats are the way to this girls heart without a doubt. As she is more than willing to do just about ANYTHING for one. At about 3 years old and 55 pounds, she's definitely on the smaller end of the shepherd spectrum, but don't let that fool you! Her ability to round you up onto the couch is undeniably shepherd-like! With Spice's love for other dogs, we believe she will do absolutely great in just about any loving, and patient home.

More about this shelter

We are a non-profit organization out of Monticello, IA specializing in the care for dogs and cats that need us. Our care does not stay local, as we take transports from all over the United States, and adopt all over as well!

Our mission's primary focus is to help reduce the homeless pet population by finding homes for spayed/neutered pets, and helping educate WHY this process is so important, and the proper way to care for pets!
