My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi there! I'm Poppy! I'm a young husky who was found as a stray, but I'm ready to start my new adventure with you! I'm super social and love making new friends, both human and canine. If you have other dogs, I'll fit right in! I've got tons of fun husky energy, so be prepared for lots of playtime and snuggles! I'm currently learning how to walk on a leash, and I promise I'm getting the hang of it-I can't wait to explore the great outdoors with you! If you're looking for a loving and energetic companion, I'm your girl! Let's make some unforgettable memories together!

The Routt County Humane Society, Inc., (RCHS) is a 501(c)3 organization, established in 1985 to serve the welfare of animals in Routt County, Colorado. Since its inception, RCHS has worked in partnership with the Steamboat Springs Animal Shelter (SSAS), a facility of City of Steamboat Springs to provide veterinary care for shelter animals as well as spay/neuter to reduce future unwanted pet population. We have also become a source of assistance for low-income family pets.
