This helps Midwest Australian Shepherd Rescue with pet care costs.
Tate (formerly known as Baggins) is fostered in Crystal Lake, IL
Tate is a gorgeous red merle male that landed in a local shelter. He was scared and quite shutdown. Tate is a gorgeous 1 year old red merle male Australian Shepherd.
Since we're not sure of his background, but it appears Tate wasn't taught much. Since being in a foster home, he is learning potty training, crate training and learning some basic commands. Tate does need a patient adopter who is willing to continue working with him on those items and keep him on a strict schedule to be successful. He is good with female dogs and a little finicky about other male dogs, but is currently in a foster home with dogs of all ages, all sizes - both males and females.
Tate is great with the adults in the home and is very friendly with them. He also plays with the other dogs and is learning how to play with toys. We are not sure about cats and a home with children over 10 is recommended. We also feel it would be best for Tate to be in a home with a physically fenced yard.
Tate is neutered, microchipped, up-to-date on all vaccinations and receiving monthly preventatives for fleas, ticks and heartworms. Are you interested in being Tate's hero and continuing his training and socialization? You will be so rewarded in kisses and will never go to the bathroom alone again.
