My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

What my friends at ACC say about me:

I am finding the shelter a little overwhelming, but when it's just you and me and some peace and quiet you'll see what a love bug I am.

I am looking for a home with a patient person.

I can be slow to adjust to new environments. I prefer to take things at my own pace.

Meadow is not open to interaction at this time and does not currently tolerate petting or handling. Because her previous owner reports she is friendly, curious, and tolerant in a home environment, we believe the behavior seen in the care center is shelter-specific and this cat would make a great pet, but is really struggling in the shelter environment. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in an experienced, home with adopters who are willing to work with a cat who needs time and patience to help her adjust to their new home.

A volunteer writes: Meadow scored a glowing review from her former person, telling us that she's friendly and outgoing, gentle with children, a fan of the family dog, litter-box trained, and an all-around loving lady who likes to lay on her humans and purr. But Meadow's acclimation to the Care Center has so far been tough, and she isn't up for making friends just yet. We understand that the transition is a hard one, especially because Meadow's people relinquished her to our care after they moved to a no-pets-allowed home. Considering how social and friendly she was in her previous household, there's no reason to believe she won't be that happy, affectionate cat once again in a new forever home. We're putting out a call for patient and understanding pet parents who know that sometimes the most wonderful cats just need an adjustment period. Meadow needs an angel--maybe you?
