My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Athena, named after the Greek goddess of wisdom, is a 4-year-old Pitbull mix with a heart full of affection and a spirit as vibrant as her namesake. Sweet, loving, and always up for an adventure, Athena enjoys nothing more than running around and sniffing out every new scent in her surroundings. Her curious nature and playful energy make her the perfect companion for someone who loves outdoor activities and cozy cuddle sessions alike.

Eager to continue her training in her forever home, Athena is a quick learner and thrives with positive reinforcement. She was transferred to us from Orange County after the devastating Airport Fires, as part of a rescue effort to free up space for animals affected by the disaster. Now, Athena is looking for her forever family, ready to share her boundless love and enthusiasm with someone who will give her the home she deserves.

Are you the wise one Athena has been waiting for? Adopt her today, and let her bring joy and adventure into your life!

More about this shelter

Founded in 1868, The SF SPCA is a community-supported nonprofit dedicated to saving, protecting and caring for cats and dogs. We do this through immediate care of animals that are homeless, ill or in need of an advocate, but we also work to educate the community, reduce the number of unwanted kittens and puppies through spaying/neutering, and improve the quality of life for animals and their companions.
