My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Pris is a cream colored, around 18 months old, Goldendoodle who came to GRRAND as a stray from a rural shelter in KY. She has no manners and will need a home with no kids under the age of 6, and no elderly unstable people as she can accidentally knock them down. Her new people will need to be committed to giving her the exercise and direction she will need to be a good girl! We are still learning about her, but this is what we are told so far from the shelter and GRRAND kennel staff...

"Pris is very, very sweet.  Loves human attention and loves people.  She did very well around other dogs. Not thrilled with a leash, needs some manners training as it appears she has been out on her own for sometime.  Also, she will jump on you, because she wants to love on you!  She will get better after a small amount of training, but she's still big, strong and has a lot of energy.  She will need to be with someone that can help her burn some energy. She is a happy girl though and she was a calm and very quiet rider, as she didn't make a peep for the 3 hour transport ride and she has not been tethered or in a crate when going to the vet. Pris is a delight and is very sweet and loving"!

We will update as we learn more, but if you would like to meet this pretty girl, please fill out an app at GRRAND.org

More about this rescue

Early in 1994, members of the Greater Louisville Golden Retriever Club began to see the need for an organization to rehabilitate and find homes for displaced and abused Golden Retrievers. A number of folks in this club began organizing an ad hoc rescue group. As the number of rescues increased over a period of months, this “wet behind the ears” group came up with a name and in 1996, incorporated the organization now known as Golden Retriever Rescue & Adoption of Needy Dogs (GRRAND). The rest, as they say, is history!
