Here's what the humans have to say about me:
** If you are interested in adopting Benny, please fill out our adoption application at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/ **
There's nothing like sweet puppy energy and silliness! They make us smile and laugh so easily with their silly, wiggly bodies! After a long day, watching your puppy run and skid across the floor will always put a smile on your face.
Benny is believed to be a Dachshund / Beagle mix. At just 4 months old and 8 lbs (estimated to be about 15 - 20 lbs full grown), he is a perfect size to hike the Colorado trails and then at day's end, snuggle close all night long.
Benny was rescued from a high-kill shelter in Arkansas, where him and his littermate Barley found themselves after being picked up as strays.
Benny is appropriately playful and inquisitive for his young age. He's also so loving and cuddly... and just TOO CUTE!
Even at just 4 months old, it's clear that this puppy is SO smart and very sweet - very typical of both the Dachshund and Beagle personalities.
Since Benny is just a puppy, he's a blank slate just waiting for a kind and patient human to show him the way. He has all the potential in the world to be an awesome adult companion. He will form firm bonds with his family and learn positive socialization skills through virtual or in-person positive reinforcement puppy kindergarten followed by force-free level 1 Obedience Classes. These classes will make a profound difference in a puppy's ultimate behavior and in their relationship/bonding with their people. It does take time and commitment...yet pays off a thousand times over when you have a dog that can accompany you out in the world with excellent behavior.
Benny is up to date on his shots, although will still require 1 more parvo booster as he gets a bit older, before it is safe to go out on public ground. He is neutered.
Farfel's Rescue is a fully foster based rescue, and offers a one week trial with every adoption. We feel that this is much more beneficial to not only the dog, but the adopter too. We believe that only getting 20-30 minutes with a dog before deciding on a lifetime commitment is not a fair amount of time to the adopter, or the dog. Therefore we give adopters one week with the dog to assure it is the right fit, and offer a full refund of their adoption fee should it not workout within the week trial.
Farfel's Rescue has been doing adoptions this way since 2005 and is thrilled to adopt out ~400 dogs each year.
Applications are currently being accepted for our wonderful pup. If interested in this gorgeous, very cuddly/sweet and loving best friend, please fill out an application completely at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/ and submit.
**PLEASE NOTE** If you're truly interested in adopting Barley, please be sure to fill out our Farfel's Rescue adoption application found at the link above or at farfels.com. Adoption site applications such as Petfinder and Adoptapet don't provide enough information and therefore aren't useful. Our Farfel's application is the only initial tool that we have to determine a great match for this very deserving dog. We're sorry, but in many cases, we're unable to get back to those that don't submit our Farfel's Rescue adoption application. Thanks very much for choosing rescue.
