My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi! Im Lucy The Best Girl. I was born April 4, 2024 on the reservation in Parker Arizona. We think I’m a Red Heeler/Pit Bull mix. Did you see how pretty my eyes are? I’m super food motivated and know basic commands. When I get really excited, I jump and spin in circles. I love love love little dogs and puppies. My favorite friend is only 6lbs and I’m super gentle with him. I also love love to wrestle and play fight with big dogs! Food Lady always tells me that I’m a super sweet girl and very smart. I don’t chew up things and can be left alone even though I am kennel and dog door trained. I love to cuddle and play and want to have my forever people to do that with. I’m spayed, microchipped, have all my vaccines and am the prettiest girl even if I’m a bit shy at first. I’ll warm up quickly and then we’ll be best friends!

Additional adoption info

Every dog and puppy that comes through The Barking Lot Dog Rescue will be "vetted" before they leave to their forever home. Being "vetted" not only means a veterinarian has seen them to ensure they're healthy; it also means they have been spayed/neutered, received at least one injection of DAPP (puppies under 6 months require 3 dosages - remaining vaccines will be scheduled at time of adoption if not already given), bordetella and rabies vaccine (required by law) and microchip. They have also been socialized in a home setting with people and other animals (varies per dog, please see their kennel card for more information).

More about this rescue

Our Mission
Giving unwanted dogs a chance at a forever life by filling hearts through rescue, adoption & community education.

We are a newly formed 501(c)(3) dog rescue in Maricopa County, Arizona. We are a group of very determined women with over 60 years of combined experience in the animal rescue community. We came together to start our dog rescue, The Barking Lot Dog Rescue, with the intention of giving unwanted or abandoned dogs and puppies a chance at a forever life by giving hope and filling hearts through rescue, adoption, and community education.
Currently, we are a foster based rescue. We depend entirely on volunteer foster homes that graciously and lovingly provide a temporary resting point until permanent homes are found for each canine.
