My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This little girl was sitting in a Texas shelter, scared and alone. NorthStar Pet Rescue came in and decided Nellie needed a second chance. She was pulled by them, renamed Kaala (new life, new name) and placed in a foster home. We don't know a lot from her so far but she is a friendly, alert pup. She and the resident dog sniffed each other, then Kaala went out to do her business as if she had been living in this house her whole life.

Kaala slept well on her first night in her foster home. She "yips" to let you know she needs to go out. She has already learned where the potty area of the yard is - she's so much fun to watch when she's outside, her middle name should be "Joy"! She slept in foster mom's lap on the way home from the shelter - she seemed so happy to finally be out of the scary shelter and in the care of someone who loves her.

In a very very small number of situations, a home check may be needed if we have any questions or concerns after processing the application.

Meet the Pet

A meet and greet will be arranged for approved applicants with you and your entire family including your current pets.

Adult Dog: 375.00
Senior Dog: 200.00
Puppy: 375.00 + 100.00 refundable spay/neuter deposit

In many areas of the country, especially in the South, the situation for animals is desperate: Chained outside and starving, homeless and running loose, or just simply no longer wanted and abandoned in an overburdened and underfunded facility that can’t possibly take another.
