A Little Bit About Me

Hi! Meet Pia! This super sweet pit bull looking for a forever home! She's currently being fostered at Happy Hound Doggie Daycare and getting so much training and exposure to everything. She gets to play in playgroup daily! Her infatuation with other dogs is so big, she gets overwhelmed with excitement, and we have to teach her to be chill! She came to the Oakland shelter completely shut down, after some time she opened up and blossomed so much! Now she greets everyone and loves to romp around! She's young has so much love to give.

She would benefit in an experienced home, someone that can keep up her energy and keep her socialized, but also know she still is a work in progressive! If you'd like to learn more about her, contact us and we'd love to have you meet her.

More about this rescue

We are a group of people dedicated to rescuing dogs from crisis situations, some of which include euthanasia by animal shelters, neglect and other forms of abuse, or "free to a good home" ads, which result in dogs being bounced from one home to another, or being acquired by animal brokers ("bunchers") and sold to research laboratories where they are used for testing then discarded ("cruelty industries").

NBCR&P works primarily with 5 herding breeds, and herding breed mixes. On occasion, NBCR&P also rescues and places other breeds. We foster our dogs in a home environment, rather than a kennel, if at all possible. We take pride in our promise that at any time and for any reason in the dog's life, if the need arises, he or she has a safe place with us ("return to rescue" policy).
