She has a calm and kind attitude when it comes to meeting new people and new dogs. Because the shelter can be a scary place, Opal can take a few minutes to warm up to you. Volunteers will highly recommend bringing snacks with you so you can get on to her VIP friends list asap! Opal will be patiently waiting for you to stop by and visit her. you to drop by and say hello Tuesday through Sunday between 10 am and 4:30 pm - no appointment necessary! ¡Permítanos presentarle Opal! We are a group of people dedicated to rescuing dogs from crisis situations, some of which include euthanasia by animal shelters, neglect and other forms of abuse, or "free to a good home" ads, which result in dogs being bounced from one home to another, or being acquired by animal brokers ("bunchers") and sold to research laboratories where they are used for testing then discarded ("cruelty industries").

NBCR&P works primarily with 5 herding breeds, and herding breed mixes. On occasion, NBCR&P also rescues and places other breeds. We foster our dogs in a home environment, rather than a kennel, if at all possible. We take pride in our promise that at any time and for any reason in the dog's life, if the need arises, he or she has a safe place with us ("return to rescue" policy).
