My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:
Meet Coco, the feline diva who's ready to steal the spotlight in your home! This gorgeous girl loves attention and being doted on but prefers to keep her feet firmly planted on the ground. Don't take it personally-she's just not into the whole "being picked up" thing. Think of her as a cat who values personal space while still basking in your affection. Who can blame her for setting a few boundaries? Coco thrives in a calm and quiet environment where she can take her time getting used to her new surroundings. She's a strong believer in the motto "slow and steady wins the race," so giving her a cozy, confined space to call her own while she settles in will help her feel right at home. Once she's comfortable, you'll discover Coco's true charm-an elegant lady with plenty of attention to give (on her terms, of course!). Ready to bring this beauty home? Don't forget your top-loading cat carrier for easy transport because Coco's got style, and she's not about to wrestle her way into a regular ol' carrier. Get ready for the most fabulous addition to your family!

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
