Brodie is a 2 year old Lab/Retriever mix. We picked Brodie up at a local shelter to be our farm dog (protect livestock, keep critters away, etc.) and he did very well. He has never shown any aggression towards other animals other than the occasional stray cat. He is house trained, knows how to sit, play fetch, and walks quite well on a leash. When outside, he stays in the fence most of the time. But even when he is outside the fence with people, he never runs away. He is playful and energetic, but will also lay down and relax once everyone else has done the same. The only reason we need to rehome him is because he will run into and knock down our two little girls when he is running with them. I have tried working with him on this, and been unsuccessful. I don't think it is a behavioral issue anymore, I just don't think he knows his own size, because he won't run into adults or even older children. I just can't have him hurting my children anymore.
