My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Dixie is a 50 lb mixed breed.  Best guess is that she is a Mt. Cur mix. She is sweet and playful.  She loves people and seems to be fine around other dogs.  We do not know how she is with cats or children.

She is highly energetic and will require a home that is willing to provide her plenty of exercise.

Anyone interested her must stop in to meet here and complete an application to be considered.

10/15/2024---Dixie is now enrolled in our prison program for training.  Anyone interested in her must schedule an appointment to meet her (she will stay at the prison until she is adopted.....she is NOT at the shelter)

More about this shelter

We are the Morrow County Dog Shelter, operated by the county.
Our shelter houses stray and homeless dogs from our county. We are a small shelter with an annual intake between 250-400 dogs. Some of our available dogs go through a prison training program if they qualify.
Our adoption fee includes all basic vet care and it is completed before a dog goes to his/her new home. An adoption application is necessary for all dogs prior to an adopter being chosen.
