My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

-Good with strangers
-Unknown with children
-Not good with cats

Bruce is a big handsome boy looking for his forever home! If you're looking for a loyal, adventurous buddy, Bruce is your guy! Bruce came to the shelter as a stray, so we don't know much about his past. We do know that Bruce is very sweet and has a big playful heart. He loves going on walks and running around his yard sniffing every smell that he can.

Bruce is looking for a family that will continue to be patient with him as he learns all the skills he needs to be the best dog that he can be! He is an energetic dog who is always eager to explore and find new adventures alongside his people.

If Bruce sounds like the right fit for your family, please fill in the application below!

The BC SPCA is a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for domestic, farm and wild animals in British Columbia. Through its locations and operations across the province the BC SPCA provides emergency medical care and sheltering for more than 37,000 animals each year. The society also conducts more than 4,600 cruelty investigations and provides a wide range of advocacy and education programs for domestic, farm and wild animals through its Provincial Office.

Our mission, vision and charter is at the heart of all we do to rescue, protect and care for animals. It is also the driving force behind our animal welfare and education programs.

Our Charter:

The BC SPCA Charter is the foundation that guides the work we do:

Whereas:

The world is inhabited by many species sharing a common ecosystem of air, earth, and water. We recognize and value our interconnectedness with all animals.

Therefore:

The BC Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for the animals of the world we share.

We pledge our energies to inspire and mobilize society to create a world in which all animals, who depend on humans for their well-being, experience, as a minimum, five essential freedoms:

1. Freedom from hunger and thirst

2. Freedom from pain, injury, and disease

3. Freedom from distress

4. Freedom from discomfort

5. Freedom to express behaviours that promote well-being.
