My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

A volunteer writes: Kudos to whomever added "Fonte" to Bella's name to differentiate her from the other Bella's we care for in the shelter. Harry Belafonte happens to be one of our favorite musicians and we are happy to jump in the line to meet her! Bella spends most of her time with us upside down, getting belly rubs and being just about the cutest little ham we've ever seen. We find out quickly she gives paw but laugh because each time she does, it's with the most DRAMA. When we ask for kisses, she happily obliges even if she gets a little overzealous with it. Bella is a pleasure to walk on leash and we sing a few little tunes to her as we prance along.

Bella was surrendered due to a no pet policy. She's reported to be friendly and outgoing with strangers and kids once she feels comfortable with them. She likes to be where the people are, usually in the living room. Bella enjoys baths and grooming (just don't touch her paws!) and getting in the car makes her nervous. She knows the cues for sit, paw, jump, roll over, kiss (besito) and bark! Bella hasn't had much experience with other pets, and during her shelter greet with a male dog she was avoidant and uncomfortable
