My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Souffle! He is an active, happy-go-lucky boy with a cuteness factor that goes to 11. He is a Standard Poodle mix and since he is already 15 pounds at 2 months old, we expect Souffle will be a medium to large dog when full grown. When Souffle and his sister Brioche first arrived at the shelter, they were soaked up to their elbows in pee and cowering in fear. But just a few short hours after being rescued, it redefined what family could be for him, and he has quickly learned to love all the attention, pats, and toys that he never knew before. He is treat-motivated and very eager to learn and please. In just a few days, he has already learned to sit, shake, down, come, go home, and leave it. After playing chase with Brioche, he will plop down and crash for a quick nap. He also thoroughly enjoys having his long soft fur brushed, and will flop over so you can reach every inch of his pillowy coat. He has done great with pee pads and we have also started potty training and crate training.

He is still shy and unsure of new things, but is quickly overcoming his fears. He barks a bit when he wants attention or when his humans leave the room, but eventually settles down quietly. He is very bonded to his sister, so it will be important for his new family to be devoted to investing lots of time and energy into him. He is definitely a smart, social puppy who will crave time with his people, which ideally will include an abundance of play, training, adventures, and meeting new people. If Souffle sounds like a good match, get your application in today!

More about this rescue

I.C.A.R.E. is an all breed, no kill dog rescue. We rescue dogs at risk of being euthanized from shelters, abandoned, abused, and stray dogs. We also rescue many owner surrendered dogs; which are dogs that can no longer remain in their current homes due to financial or personal issues. I.C.A.R.E. Dog Rescue is dedicated to reducing the number of dogs that are euthanized in our shelters each and everyday. We focus on rescuing and rehabilitating them in loving foster homes until they are adopted into their permanent homes. We also focus on educating the public regarding specific breeds, rescue, and general information regarding the canine species. We are a 100% volunteer run and supported organization that cannot survive without the help of loving fosters, volunteers, and benefactors.
