My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, I'm Joe, an old soul who has endured a tougher life than most cats and now wants nothing more than a calm home without other pets to enjoy my golden years. A kind person found me outside, brought me into their home for safety, took me to the vet and did a great job trying to make me feel at home. But the long term resident cat didn't appreciate my presence, so I was surrendered to HAWS to help me find my final loving home. I know I lived with people before but I don't know how long I was outside before I was found as a stray. I also know I'm a really sweet guy and want you to come meet me to find out for yourself. The staff and volunteers are taking wonderful care of me and make me more comfortable with people with every day that passes so I know I'm ready to thrive in a loving home. Could it be yours?

When you meet me, you will see I have a few battle scars on my nose and head from my days outside. I think I'm still handsome and see them as badges of courage, perseverance and hope. I'm looking for a special person who has a big heart for a senior cat like me, sees beyond my blemishes and will love me despite my FIV diagnosis. FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus) is a condition that affects my immune system and I probably got it when I was living outside. FIV is not contagious to people or other non-feline animals. All I ask for is a loving and quiet home where I can live only inside and receive regular veterinary care to manage my FIV. FIV cats like me live long and fulfilling lives with proper care and attention. I believe I deserve a chance at happiness just like any other cat. If you think so too, please come meet me today at HAWS.
