My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:
Squeaks was brought in by Humane Law Enforcement on August 23, 2024.

Why this pet is the one for you:
Meet Squeaks, a gentle soul who's searching for his new home! Squeaks came in with his best friend Boots #921925 and he would sure love to be adopted with her. This shy guy may take some time to acclimate, but with patience and love, he's sure to blossom. Squeaks has lived harmoniously with other cats and will definitely need another kitty friend or two in his new home. Squeaks is looking for a quiet home without young kids, where he can thrive and develop his unique personality. Once he warms up, he'll show you his sweet side and approach you for attention! If you're ready to give this handsome the time and space he needs, he's ready to find his special place in your heart! He does have a few medical conditions, so we would love to set you up with one of our vets to tell you more about it! Bring in a carrier and ask about adopting today!

Shy/Fearful Cat:  This pet requires a virtual behavior consult, please watch THIS video to learn more about them.

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
