Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
If you see pets listed by a private owner, it means that they’re adoptable through Adopt a Pet’s Rehome program – the safe and reliable way to find a loving new home for your pet.
Ferd is the most loving and calm dog I've ever encountered.
He's amazing with kids. I mean amazing. We have had visitor's kids put him through hell and he never bit or attacked. Only yelped when they hurt him.
He also just loves people and if you let him love you back ... He will not understand the definition of personal space.
He is very smart and stubborn; doesn't bark; and is happiest if he has space to run (either dog park or back yard).
We got him from some friends of ours (New Mexico adoption). He came very polite. He knew how to sit and he listens to not come sit at the table while we eat. We let him on the couches and beds but he'll get off if you tell him to. With a bit more training, he could go fully offleash too.
Cons:
He can climb fences unless you have a shock collar on him (and we can give you ours).
He sheds
He will whine if he doesn't get a walk or you don't pet him enough.
If another dog gets nasty towards him, he will fight back.
