RESCUE ONLY DEADLINE 5PM 09/25/24 Name: Kenai Animal ID: A840566 Age: 2 years Weight: 70 lbs. About: Kenai is a two-year-old chocolate-colored Pit Bull mix who came to PACC on September 5th, 2024, after being confiscated from his previous owner. The confiscation followed a situation in which Kenai displayed protective behavior towards his owner, resulting in a bite to another person.
While Kenai may be protective of his family if out in an uncomfortable situation, he is friendly and easy to handle. He’s a people- oriented dog and enjoys interacting with his human friends- in fact, when meeting other dogs in a playgroup setting, he made sure to circle back and check in with the handlers in the yard regularly.
During his evaluation with other dogs Kenai was social and tolerant- he attempted to engage in play with some other pups and when they weren’t interested, he spent his time exploring the play yard and sniffing all the interesting smells. He does need to be neutered to curb any mounty tendencies, but staff described him as a very good boy. He’d like to meet any resident dogs before heading home to make sure it’s a good fit.
Adoption Process:
Interested parties: •Must visit PACC before the 5:00 PM Wednesday, September 25th deadline to meet with an adoption counselor who will go over Kenai’s notes and then introduce you to Kenai to ensure that it’s a good fit. •Are encouraged to reach out to a rescue group, to start their process. Have the rescue contact PACC at PACC.UrgentDogs@pima.gov. If you`ve connected with a rescue, please inform PACC for coordination.
Collaboration with Rescue Groups:
PACC`s Role: •If you haven`t contacted a rescue, PACC will notify all partnered rescue groups about your interest and request their assistance.
