Charlene is as gentle a spirit you could ever find. She was surrendered by a commercial breeding facility after years of abuse and litters of puppies sold for profit.

Upon her arrival at Angel's Retreat, she made herself right at home, greeting the other dogs and our volunteers with a wagging tail and that big golden smile. She quickly stole the hearts of everyone who met her.

While Charlene's early years may not have been the kindest, we can confidently say that from now on she will only live her best life.

Many of our puppy mill survivors require some extra love, care, and patience as they adjust to life inside of a home. Positive reinforcement and gentle kindness will go a long way. If you're willing to open your home to a mill mama, the love will come back to you ten-fold.
