Meet Rusty, a seasoned soul with a heart full of love. His calm demeanor makes him a perfect companion for those seeking a mellow and gentle friend. Rusty is a 13-pound cuddly canine who cherishes every moment spent in the warmth of a loving hug or on a lap. He's good with older, calm dogs but can be rough and dominant with some young ones. He shows great gentleness with children, making him a wonderful addition to most families but his quirky habit of nipping at ankles is leading us to require that children in the home be at least nine years old. With most kids, he is easygoing, friendly, playful, and tolerant. Rusty tends to bark at cats but hasn't actually met one up close and personal yet. Despite his senior status, Rusty's spirit remains young. His gentle nature and affectionate personality make him a joy to be around. He's leash trained and crate trained, making him a well-mannered companion. He likes car rides, lap sitting, and crawling on his belly in the grass. He knows the sit and stay commands. CAP adoption fees include a variety of services - age-appropriate vaccinations, canine heartworm, and feline leukemia tests, spaying/neutering, deworming treatment, microchipping to name a few - the total value of which exceeds $450. These minimal adoption fees cover only part of each animal's stay at our shelter - please help us keep adoption fees low while maintaining the high quality of care for the animals in our charge by donating and/or volunteering.
