My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This sweet pup takes advantage of every nice day he can to get out and play. He especially loves soccer and can kick, chase, and carry the ball all on his own but especially likes when you join in. He also excels at tug, loves long walks, and appreciates having a ball thrown for him (although he's not big on retrieving). When he's tired out he enjoys rolling around in the grass, getting belly rubs, and lounging around with a nice squeaky toy. Fezzik is a smart, sensitive boy who knows sit and speak, loves pets, and simply enjoys spending time with people.

More about this shelter

The Humane Society of Scott County (HSSC) has been an advocate for the humane care of all animals in Scott County, Iowa, since 1902.

An average of 500 pets arrive at the HSSC each month. About 80% come to us as strays and the rest are surrendered by owners who can no longer keep or care for their pets.

The HSSC is a non-profit 501(c) 3 organization funded entirely by donations, adoption fees and a fee charged to the city and county for the care of the animals.
