My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Gordo is his name and he deserves to be the main character in someone's world! He is giving leading man looks with the charisma and confidence you expect from those looks. A leading man/ main-character energy thing is what we have here. If you have any experience with bulldogs or the bully breed, his personality isn’t surprising. Confident, friendly but not overly eager, Gordo has a classic bulldog goofiness that those familiar with the breed will appreciate. If you have fallen for that face of his and considering adopting him but do not have experience with the breed, we recommend doing some research to ensure his personality and quirks fit your life and family. Basically, if you have fitness goals and you’re looking for a dog to hit the pavement to get those miles in… well Gordo is not the one. He would in fact like to join you in a relaxation/self-care journey. Picture it, Netflix on, maybe a little skin-care mask, a plate of snacks and ice cream in the freezer. That is the scene he would be cast in.

Gordo is estimated to be just over a year old and weighs 55 lbs. We believe he is all done growing physically but mentally he is learning every day! He is so fortunate to be waiting for his adoption day in a foster home with a family dedicated to setting him up for adoption success. Gordon is at a perfect age for training and learning all about being the best boy but comes pre-loaded with some amazing skills including being house and crate trained, and a few commands including sit. Gordo does enjoy a good walk, but given he is a bulldog, he is more of a stroll around the block type. See and be seen and back home. My personal favorite! He is a beef-cake with aspirations for house-dog life. With seeming no concept of his size when it comes time to a snuggle session, Gordo needs someone with enough physical presence to hold their own as he is coming in for snuggles. His short beefy size and friendly nature makes kids giggle and he currently lives with small kids that he does wonderful with, but he would be best with kids that have grown into a set of steady legs. He wouldn’t knowingly knock anyone over; his big body and lack of spatial awareness keep him from being a graceful boy.

An ideal home for Gordo would be a house, or an apartment/condo with no downstairs neighbors. That sounds silly but imagine being the downstairs neighbor when a moment of bully-zoomies come over him! A herd of small hippos is what I imagine it might sound like and we don’t want you to suffer any complaints for having a happy dog with a big body. If you have a dog who’s play-style could be described as rough and rowdy, Gordo would love to be their new bestie. He is good with other dogs but his play style isn’t for the dainty. He has a very typical bulldog stamina, short and sweet, but he is also living in a place where the heat is a terrible contender. In a cooler climate he will surely be much more comfortable and able to play for longer. He will always be a short play/long nap kind of guy, its in his genes. As for cats, we would say Gordo is best-suited for a cat-free home.

This boy has a lot of love to give and is ready to meet his forever people. Gordo is going to be an incredible addition to a bulldog-loving family who can appreciate his goofy ways and pig-ish snores. If you think you’re the right match for Gordo we would love for you to apply to adopt him!

Why adopt from Three Little Pitties?

The stray and animal overpopulation in the Greater Houston area is the highest in the nation. Statistics show that there are over 1 million homeless animals in this region alone. Three Little Pitties Rescue is a nonprofit dog and cat rescue that partners with the community to make a difference. Our mission is to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and saving all breeds of dogs and cats from the streets or animal shelters that oftentimes have no other option but to euthanize animals for space. This dog you’ve found online is lucky to be in our program, and even luckier to have you notice it!

Three Little Pitties wants to set you and your new pet up for success! We know our dogs and we work hard to prepare them socially for adoption. We are a network of dedicated people who are heavily invested in seeing our animals thrive. From the moment they are accepted into our program, our Intake, Behavior & Medical teams prepare them for adoption by properly vetting, behaviorally assessing, and providing customized plans depending on the dog’s needs. We seek to adopt to families who understand that these are rescue dogs and will require continued training efforts, but will be well on their way to being the best dogs that they can be!

It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these special perks:

• 30 day trial of pet insurance with Trupanion (must register within 24 hours of first vet appt.)
• A free private online dog training session with GoodPup plus low pricing for future sessions (approx $25 weekly for an 8 week course of one session per week)
• One free bonus toy in every BarkBox when signing up for their Super Chewer subscription plan
• 70% off of your first order of Fetch, a PNW based, organic fresh dog food loaf meal subscription plan
• Coupons for a fun visit to Petco
• Access to our exclusive FB Adopters page, where you can network for play dates, resources, and connect with other adopters that share their passion for their adopted pup!

We celebrated our 5 year anniversary this year! Through the combined efforts of all of our hardworking staff and volunteers, we have placed over 12,000 very lucky dogs and cats into amazing homes! By adopting from us, you save TWO lives! The pet you adopt, and you create an opportunity for another animal to be saved in that spot. Together, we can be heroes.
