My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This little gal had a rough start to life and has been through the mud. She is now on the lookout for a loving home who will make her a priority! She is fully potty trained and has great manners. You can often find her lounging around in staff offices, soaking up all the attention she can get.

Minnie is a cool clam around other dogs and would be happy to meet others. We are unsure how she does around cats.

Minnie is sweeter than pie and gentle as can be. She adores rolling onto her back for scratches and will happily melt into your hands. She has so much love to offer and is eager to find someone who will cherish her just as much. Come meet Minnie today and discover the joy she can bring to your life!

More about this shelter

WHO WE ARE

The Almost Home Humane Society (AHHS) (formerly the Tippecanoe County Humane Society) was founded in 1939 by a group of local animal lovers in Tippecanoe County. Since its beginning more than 60 years ago, the organization has been dedicated to improving the lives of animals in our community.

We are not a government agency, are not affiliated with any national organization, and we are not a United Way Agency. We are an open-admission shelter and we accept all animals in need, regardless of age, health or adoptability. As a local non-profit we exist through the generosity of our community.

MISSION STATEMENT

We, the Almost Home Humane Society (AHHS), care deeply about the comfort and rights of animals and citizens within our area. As such, we strive to enhance the relationship between people and animals through education, to control the pet population through responsible advocacy, and to provide sanctuary for unwanted, lost, and neglected animals.

NON-PROFIT STATUS

The Almost Home Humane Society (AHHS) is an independent, nonprofit agency. We are not funded by any governmental or national animal welfare organization. We are a private, non-profit 501(c) 3 organization dedicated to the prevention of cruelty to animals, relief of suffering among animals and the extension of humane education, and we are governed by a volunteer board of directors.
