Sweet Charlie came to us after being surrendered by a commercial breeding facility (puppy mill) in Lancaster county. While we don't know the full extent of the abuse Charlie was victim to, we know that it had a lasting effect on him.

Charlie is incredibly timid and fearful of people. He chooses to keep his distance and observe, rather than engage at this point. Through gentle encouragement he is beginning to gain the trust of his handlers and we are very optimistic that he will soon be reveling in the joy of love and affection from his forever family.

It should go without saying (and this applies to ALL dogs) but, only positive reinforcement based training can be used with Charlie. He will need a patient owner who is willing to work through his insecurities and build his confidence and trust.
