My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

If you have lived in Tillamook for a little while you may be familiar with our sweet girl Rosie. She would often be seen walking the streets with her owner Tim. Tim was well known to us as we had Rosie visit us on more than one occasion. Rosie loved to get pets from everyone in town. Tim sadly passed away recently and Rosie has been left in our care.

Tim didn't have much but he loved Rosie with all his heart. We would like to honor Tim by finding Rosie her forever home.Rosie is a sweet girl. Recently she has not been great with other dogs and we are looking for her to have a place where she can be the only dog in the house. She had a cat friend previously however we will be cat testing her. She is about 7 years old. She loves belly rubs and giving kisses. She never messes up her kennel. She is great on a leash. She loves kids!
She doesn't like to be alone and will loudly protest so apartment living may not be best for her.

If you are interested in providing Rosie her retirement home please fill out our adoption application.

More about this shelter

Tillamook K9 Rescue is the main provider to assist Law Enforcement with found dogs throughout Tillamook County.

If Law Enforcement responds to an emergency where an owner may need to be taken to the hospital for treatment or possibly arrested, any dogs in residence will be delivered to the kennel for their safety and care. If a dog needs to be trapped we will work with the community and Law Enforcement to make sure that dog has a safe place to decompress while we search for their owner.

We rely deeply on the help of our volunteers to care for the dogs, and our staff handles intake, adoptions and releases. We hold the animals for 7 days and if we aren't able to find the owners we then place them up for adoption. While a dog is in our care they receive 2 meals a day, any needed medical attention, and our volunteers come out to the rescue for multiple shifts throughout the day to ensure the dogs are socialized, exercised and loved.
