My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Good boy, Leroy, is a calm and extra sweet 12 year old senior Schnauzer mix! Leroy loves his people, to snuggle, play fetch, and go on daily walks! Once comfortable, Leroy is great with other dogs and even cats! He also enjoys older, respectful children too. This sweet, spry senior, is a chatty boy (but not an obnoxious barker) and enjoys telling stories and talking to his people. Leroy is house, leash and crate trained and would enjoy a home with a securely fenced yard to meaner at his leisure, however would also do fine in an apartment setting so long as he has lots of opportunities to get outside to do his business and get some fresh air!

Leroy is a healthy medium sized boy, weighing in at around 25 lbs, and has medium energy. He does have some allergies that require he take a once daily, oral prescription to keep him comfortable, and will need to remain on this medication for life. Leroy also will require regular bi-monthly grooming. Potential adopters should have a solid plan for affording and providing this required, continued care.

Leroy's adoption fee is just $100. He is fully vetted, vaccinated, and health checked. To be considered, please apply online at caws.org. Thanks! If you are interested in adopting a CAWS pet, please fill out an online application at https://caws.org/adoption-applicationSeptember 19, 2024, 7:20 am

Additional adoption info

Since we make a lifetime commitment to any animal that comes into our program, we only adopt out animals to people in our area..

If you are interested in adopting a CAWS cat or dog, please fill out the online application at http://www.caws.org/application/, email adopt@caws.org or call 328-4731. For the most timely response applying online is recommended.

We respond as quickly as possible but as we are a volunteer based organization and do not have full time staff, we respond as quickly as possible.

Go meet their pets

CAWS does not have a conventional shelter facility - all CAWS animals waiting for adoption are in foster homes. The number of animals we can help find new homes for is closely linked to how many CAWS foster homes are available. For additional information regarding how you, too, can become a foster, please see our fostering page located on our web site!

CAWS volunteers bring cats and dogs to the PetSmart near 2100 South and 300 West in South Salt Lake on the third and fourth weekends of each month

We are also at the Sugarhouse PETCO (1165 Wilmington Ave) the first Saturday of each month.
