Behavioral:
Per Volunteer 9/28/24:
Very easy for leashing! He walked really nicely with some minimal pulling. Took pets all over- very loose and wiggly boy! Jumped up on me for attention. He is cold club but seemed to be pretty lively and not too congested! We walked past another sick dog Spider so stopped to say hi. Hooch was very interested, a little stiff, but tail was wagging and seemed interested in interacting. Very good lil cutie!
Per Staff 9/22:
Did a meet with a female dog Hooch - overall sweet and good for the dog meet, remaining loose to neutral, but he did occasionally try to jump on the other dog and grab on. Never humped, but I stopped the jumping pretty quickly.
Per volunteer 9/21: Hooch was a charmer. He seemed hungry - was somewhat intense with my treats - but walked like a dream, sat for treats, made wonderful happy eye contact. A real love. Met a little dog through a fence - all waggy. Volunteered sits for treats.

BEHAVIOR EVALUATION: Hooch
KNOWN HISTORY:
Stray
KENNEL PRESENTATION:
Hooch is being housed in a crate currently due to space. He was very excited to get out, and was jumping around and pawing at the door when I approached. He had soft eyes and a wagging tail, but was pretty aroused already. I was able to leash him easily as he stuck his nose to the crack when I opened the door. He came right out once secured.
LEASH SKILLS:
Pulls minimally
HANDLING:
Hooch is a ball of bouncy, playful energy! When we got to the yard he sniffed out treats right away. He is VERY treat motivated, and will do almost anything for a treat, except sit still! He's very snatchy, so use an open palm or toss his treats. He showed me he knows "sit, but was wiggling around too much to show me any other tricks. Hooch allowed all over handling no issues, and was happy to get treats and attention. He liked to jump up on me for treats, and did try to snatch some out of my hands before I was ready to give him one. He could use some training on manners as he gets aroused easily; but he's been in a crate for the past couple days, so he's also pent up. We ran around and played for a bit, and he was pretty jumpy, but didn't mouth me. He showed some interest in toys, but was more focused on treats. Overall, Hooch is a super sweet, hungry boy that just needs some help learning to calm down and chill out.
