My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet adoptable Nina!

Nina and her brother Gaston are a bonded pair, longing for a home where they can stay together forever

These itty bitty siblings are best of friends and have never been apart from each other. They were rescued in Tonalá, Mexico, when their family no longer wanted them and left them on the streets. They protected and comforted each other during this frightening time Fortunately, our rescue partners stepped in to bring Nina & Gaston to safety at their rescue shelter.

~ AGE: 2 years

~ GENDER: Female

~ WEIGHT: 5 lbs.

~ HEIGHT: 8 inches

~ BREED: Chihuahua mix

Nina is a love bug through and through! She builds deep bonds with her humans, showing endless affection and loyalty to those she loves. She likes nothing more than being close to her family and having a warm lap to curl into.  Nina enjoys being held, pampered, and doted on like the little princess she is. Along with her brother Gaston, you’ll have double the snuggles & kisses!

Nina is comfortable with kids and we recommend children age 8+ as she is a petite dog with a fragile build. Nina also gets along with other dogs but her #1 bestie is her brother Gaston. Nina has not been tested with cats; we can request a cat assessment if needed.

In terms of training, chihuahuas as a breed are quite easy to train with positive reinforcement and treats! With a bit of time and practice, Nina is sure to pick up commands & tricks quickly. Although she was house trained at her former home, this has come a bit undone since being at the shelter. It shouldn’t take her long to re-learn this skill at her future home.
