My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Annie!!!!

This sweet girl was found in Mississippi in a field where she was looking for food. Annie was Soo emaciated, but still would wag her tail to see a human. She was taken into a foster, where she gain weight and her true personality came out.

Fast forward a few months.... Annie is a spectacular girl. Her favorite thing is toys!!! She loves running with her squeakers, playing tug a war with her friends and also playing fetch with her humans. Annie adores her humans and doggie friends. She will give kisses and while her whole back end is wiggling away. Annie knows that she was saved and has another chance at life!! She is now looking for her forever person or family to enjoy that with. Annie will chase cats but if they are dog savvy, we believe she should be okay with them. Annie adores children!!! She would love going to the kids soccer games and cheering them on the sideline. Annie will cuddle up with you on a brisk day by the fire. She will also go on long walks with you through the woods to view the foliage. Annie is just awesome!!!

If you think she is beautiful, and you want her to be part of your family forever apply now!! Annie cannot wait to give you lots of love and get it in return. She deserves everything after her rough start.

More about this rescue

Fetching Hearts Rescue is a non-profit 501(c)(3), volunteer run rescue that is dedicated to saving dogs who have been abused, neglected or abandoned and finding loving, caring homes for them.

We rely on a network of foster families so that each dog that we pull into the safety of our rescue is placed in a foster home and is no longer confined to a life in a kennel.

We are committed to helping dogs of all ages, breeds and sizes by partnering with shelters and animal control services right here in Connecticut as well as with several high kill shelters in the South.

We do a full assessment of each dog's temperament and health to ensure that we are able to find the most suitable home for them. Every dog is fully vetted - meaning they are up to date on vaccinations, spayed/neutered, heartworm negative and micro chipped - before being adopted.

The ASPCA estimates that approximately 3.3 million dogs in the United States enter shelters each year, of which approximately 670,000 are euthanized*. Our goal is to advocate for and provide education about the need for spaying and neutering to eliminate what has become an epidemic of unwanted dogs.*
