Bishop was shot in the leg. Why? Because he was starving and looking for food in someone's yard. He was roaming the area in Texas for a few weeks, looking for food yet no one helped him. The wonderful lady who witnessed the person shoot him took the dog away and brought him to her home. She took care of his wound until it healed from the outside. Unfortunately, it didn’t initially heal on the inside and Bishop couldn't use his leg; it was dangling and useless.
She asked for our help and we took him in. The vet said his bone was shattered, and he was in a great deal of pain. But the good news was that the vet thought that with treatment he would have a good chance of healing the injury and being able to walk again. So she splinted his leg. Without waiting long he stood up and asks to go outside to do his business.
He is such a sweet boy—he loves everyone, is playful, and is an overall good boy.
After his leg heals, he will be ready to go home to his new family, where he won't have to worry about anyone hurting him again.
He is estimated to be around 18 months old.
Bishop is currently in Texas but will be transported to NJ when adopted.

If approved, a Meet and Greet is scheduled or transport pickup is confirmed.

Take the Pet Home
Adopter gets a new "Friend for Life" and a pup has been saved.

Our mission is to place unwanted and in-danger animals in homes, regardless of age or breed. To educate the public and help stop animal cruelty and neglect.
We don't discriminate against potential adopters on any basis or for any reason. We approve potential adopters if they are and the animal they applied for is a good fit.
