My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Bobby! This Yorkshire Terrier – Poodle blend (Yorkie Poo) is one year old and weighs 19 lbs. Bouncy, beautiful Bobby wants to be everyone’s friend and has boundless love to give a lucky forever family.

  • General Behavior: Bobby is very smart and sweet and he craves human attention. He's interested in meeting all the neighbors and will try to get into their open garages if left to do so. He's curious about everything around him and will jump in the car invited or not. He doesn't like to be alone and will jump up and follow you all over the house every time you get up.

  • Likes & Dislikes: Bobby loves being around people! He also loves walks. He likes to chase lizards and squirrels when taken around the neighborhood and he loves to run and play in the back yard. He has not shown much interest in toys. He will play fetch with a ball if you entice him to by bouncing and/or throwing the ball against the wall to get his interest.

  • Training: Bobby is curious and clever and has the makings of a little gentleman! He is housetrained if let out regularly, he is a polite passenger in the car, and he sleeps in a dog bed at night. He just needs some more practice with walking on a leash and basic manners.

  • Medical: Bobby is a healthy boy! He just needs his monthly flea and heartworm preventatives, like any dog.

  • Other Animals: Bobby has done well with other small dogs so far. He has not been observed around cats, but his foster thinks he’d be OK with them.

  • Children: Bobby has not been observed around children yet.

  • Home: Bobby is quiet and would do well in a variety of settings, but he’d love a single family home with a securely fenced yard where he can run and play.

  • Grooming: As a Yorkie Poo, Bobby will need regular brushing and professional grooming about every 6-8 weeks. Luckily, his foster has been working on getting him used to baths.

  • Overall: Affectionate, adventurous Bobby will be a wonderful companion for an active family who can give him the love and attention he deserves.

Is Bobby the snuggly, loving, adventurous guy your life has been missing? Then visit our website www.PoodleandPoochRescue.org where you will find the application to adopt. You’ll be put in contact with the foster family for more information if it’s a potential match. He is up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative, microchipped, and neutered, and he has just had his teeth cleaned. His adoption donation is $600.

We are a foster-based rescue organization and do not have a facility. We have all events posted on our website each month.

More about this rescue

Poodle and Pooch Rescue is a 501(c)3 non profit organization that saves dogs that truly need help. We rescue the "leftovers" from animal control, the dogs nobody wants because they're older or suffer from neglect, abuse or have a medical need. Their "last" day becomes the first day of their new life. We provide the veterinary care they need, a foster family they love and when they're ready, we adopt them to a family who cherishes them. We do not have a physical shelter because every dog lives with one of our foster families. We are all volunteers so your tax-deductible donation goes directly to help the dogs. We have saved over 5,500 dogs since 2008.
