Freda was saved from living her life on the streets of TX by SSR. Such a sweet personality and very intelligent. Freda is a medium energy easy going gal that takes correction well. She really loves being outside and going for daily walks, walking great on the leash. Freda is good with all people and could be a wonderful companion for an older person. She has shown a calmness and ease around small children. She is an affectionate girl that enjoys being by your side. Freda has no bad habits and is a polite kind soul. She is up to date on vaccinations, spayed, heartworm negative, housebroken, and under fifty pounds. Slow introductions to other dogs is recommended, as Freda can feel unsure at first. Freda is now being fostered in Pennsylvania. More information to come as we learn about this good girl.

Additional adoption info

The first step to adopt one of our dogs is to complete an adoption application. Once you have submitted your application, a volunteer with call your personal and veterinary references. Following references, SSR will send out a volunteer to conduct a home visit and meet any members of your household. We come to your home and further discuss the adoption process.

The adoption application will let us know a little bit about you, your home, your lifestyle and what you are looking for in a companion. Anyone over the age of 18 is welcome to fill out our application to adopt one of our dogs. Your application will either be accepted or denied after the volunteer submits a home visit report.

ADOPTION FEES
There is a non-refundable application fee of $15.
Our adoption fee is $300 for dogs aged 6 and under.
Our adoption fee is $225 for dogs 7 and up.

More about this rescue

Shenandoah Shepherd Rescue is an all-volunteer rescue focused primarily on the rescue of German Shepherds. We are based out of the Shenandoah Valley in Virginia, but expand our reach and work to save German Shepherds in heavily populated areas throughout the country. While our rescue is a new organization, our volunteers have been rescuing German Shepherds for many years. Our hope is to rescue, rehabilitate and rehome every German Shepherd in need.
