Sammy is an adorable 13-year old male Labrador Retriever mix who was brought to the HSOV on September 9, 2024 after he was picked up on Grandview Avenue in New Matamoras Ohio by the Washington County Ohio Dog Warden. Sammy was wearing a collar but there was neither an ID tag nor a dog license tag on his collar ... And he was not microchipped.
This handsome older gentleman has a black coat with a small patch of white on his chest, a long tail, and the sweetest face with hopeful trusting eyes, frosty white/silver shading on his muzzle, and cute floppy ears.
Sammy was a pleasure to photograph when HSOV Kennel Tech Hannah McClain accompanied him for outdoor photos late in the afternoon on September 10th. Sammy definitely stole several hearts (including that of our photographer). This senior citizen has the sweetest, most lovable personality!
Sammy appears to be hearing-impaired since we couldn't imagine that he was merely ignoring our conversations when we were 'oohing and aahing' over him and telling him what a good boy he was.
Sammy weighs 60 lbs.
We were very thankful for Sammy (and his owner) when this special boy was reclaimed on September 11, 2024 and went back home where he really wanted to be.
