Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Snoop (fka Tread) is a 3-year old male Terrier mix who was picked up by a Washington County Ohio Deputy Sheriff on September 6, 2024 after Snoop had been hit by an automobile on Waterford Road,
The Deputy Sheriff who rescued Snoop/Tread took him directly to one of our compassionate local veterinarians' office/hospital clinic where he underwent surgery for injuries to his lower back. HSOV staff was able to transport him back to our shelter on September 7th. Snoop had several sutures/staples and a drain in his side, and he has been resting comfortably while on 'bed rest' and medications. The drain was removed on September 9th, and the sutures/staples were scheduled to be removed on September 16th.
We are very thankful that Snoop aka Tread was able to receive the best care possible (and so quickly) after the trauma he endured.
Snoop has a tan coat, a rather long body, and a cute Terrier face with hopeful trusting brown eyes, a tiny slender muzzle with a dusting of white, and large erect ears.
We posted photos which were taken on September 7th and September 8th, 2024 while Snoop/Tread was following doctor's orders and making the most of his 'rest and relaxation' regimen. Snoop was very quiet and subdued (likely with a little help from his pain medications).
Within a couple of days, Snoop was up walking around, wagging his tail, and putting his paws up on the gate of his 'apartment' (the closet just off the lobby/hallway) and was begging for attention ... And he was beginning to 'bark some orders' for us to follow for attention, treats, and bathroom breaks .. which was music to our ears!!
Snoop is a petite boy who weighs 18 lbs.
In compliance with the Ohio Revised Code, Tread/Snoop was held for three days to that his family would have an opportunity to reclaim him. Nobody called or came looking for this little man.
These updated photos of Snoop were taken on September 16, 2024 shortly after HSOV Lead Canine Kennel Tech Jared Nash and Snoop returned from his follow-up appointment at Colegate Woods Veterinary Hospital. Snoop's sutures/staples were removed that day and, much to his delight, the 'cone of shame' was also removed. Snoop happily snuggled up on Jared's lap for the trip back to HSOV and shared the driver's seat .. and had already stolen Jared's heart by the time they pulled out of the parking lot.
Snoop was also quite smitten with HSOV Kennel Tech Rachel Elizabeth and loved being carried around in her arms and being showered with attention. Snoop was walking great (and wagging his tail a mile-a-minute) when Rachel asked if he'd like to go outdoors with her for updated photos .. And naturally Snoop (and our photographer) jumped at the chance for new pictures!
Needless to say, Snoop thoroughly enjoyed his 15-minutes of fame (and the gourmet dinner that Jared served later that afternoon).
Snoop was neutered on October 1, 2024 and was also given rabies vaccine. He was adopted later that afternoon.
